The SPSS reader is written in Rust and runs locally through WebAssembly. The browser reads the selected file into memory; the public Local viewer does not transfer its contents to the server.

Does the free viewer upload my SPSS file?
No. Opening and inspecting a file in the public Local viewer happens in browser memory. Account requests do not contain the file.
Which file formats are supported?
The viewer opens .sav and .zsav files. CSV and XLSX tables can be imported locally. Workbench writes verified .sav and .zsav copies.
Can I change data and variable properties?
Yes, with Workbench or the public demo workflow. Changes are staged, reviewable and written to a new file; the source stays unchanged.
When is Private Server useful?
